World Day IPv6: Internet is prepared for change protocol

World Day IPv6: Internet is prepared for change protocol - On June 8 largely Internet-based companies will test for 24 hours operation of IPv6 with IPv4, in what could be considered the first major test of the protocol, which organizers have dubbed IPv6 World Day.

Among the companies that have confirmed their participation include Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Akamai, among others, who will use that day to try on your infrastructure to ensure that there will be major problems once the protocol is implemented permanently.

If we add all the companies that will participate in the test, it is estimated that in one day, accounted for more than 1 billion page views load, with estimates that only 0.05% of users present any Internet access problem for that day due to configuration problems on your network devices.

For years it has been speculating on the actual date when IPv4 addresses run out (in theory is available only 2% of IPv4 addresses), so each day that passes makes it necessary for companies to prepare their infrastructure networks to operate with the new protocol.
